Everyone needs a little (or big) space they can call their own, but as a person that works from home, this can be even more important. In fact could be life or death of work-at-home status.
You see, when working out of your house it is so easy to get caught up in the every day of what needs to happen. Laundry, dishes, phone calls, bills, yard work, kids, animals, you get the idea.
Sometimes you don’t even make it home with all the errands you have to run and before you know it, kids are back from school, dinner is on the table and your day is just beginning.
As a business owner, health coach, wife, student and parent there is definitely a balancing act between my hours of the day. To make that balance work for me, I set up a little space in our home, where “I go to work”…

This is my inspiration room.
There is warm light at night, sunlight during the day, a view of trees out the window and plants inside. I have my Inspiration board front and center (will share that in another post), some of my favorite books, a desk space, sitting spot, and awesome Falling in Happy rug!
Additionally, all my office supplies, files, craft cubbies etc. are on the wall you can’t see.
All this is divided by that little screen. Nothing fancy! I only had to purchase a couple of items, the rest I found throughout the house and moved in to this space.
When I see my inspiration room, I can’t help but feel peaceful and welcome. I look forward to my time in their to think, write, create, and read.
But the funny thing… That area is SMACK Dab in the middle of my house. It is actually part of the family room and off the kitchen. The partial screen is the only divider and yet it is MY SPACE and still feels so perfect!
Do you have a perfect spot that you call your own? Can you create one?
